Wikipedia Trail: From Toshio Mori to Asian Americans

First I decided to look up the author Toshio Mori who I read about in my week 10 part A blog. Toshio Mori was an American author. He was well known for being one of the first Japanese American writers to make a book that was fiction. Toshio had been born in Oakland, California however he grew up in San Leandro. While world war 2 was going on it is said that him and his family were at Topaz War Relocation Center which isin Utah. Wiki also stated that “After the war, Mori returned to the Bay Area where he continued to write. He is the author of Yokohama, California (1949), The Chauvinist and Other Stories (1979), and The Woman from Hiroshima (1980). Mori worked most of his adult life in a small family nursery. It said that "He participated in drawing the UFO Robo Grendizer, the Japanese series TV in the years 1975-1977”(Wikipedia). Then this made me click in “Topaz War Relocation Center” because I had know idea what this was and it sounded the most interesting to click on. The Topaz War Relocation Center was also called the Central Utah Relocation Center (Topaz) and “briefly as the Abraham Relocation Center”. This was said to be an internment camp in which the “Americans of Japanese descent” and “immigrants” that came to the U.S from Japan had called Nikkei. The President at the time which was Franklin Roosevelt had signed an “Executive Order 9066 in February 1942” In which this had ordered “people of Japanese ancestry to be incarcerated in "relocation centers" like Topaz during World War II”. After reading about this I became more fascinated with the japanese culture and their past history so I clicked on “Americans of Japanese descents”. It said that the Japanese Americans were also know as “日系アメリカ人 Nikkei Amerikajin” If I remember correctly nikkei was the name of the place they stayed. The Japanese Americans was said on wiki to have had been the 3rd largest “ Asian American ethnic communities during the 20th century” however these numbers started to go down to “constitute the sixth largest Asian American group at around 1.4 million.” My question is how does a group like this go down in numbers so quickly? But according to a study in 2010 japanese americans seem to be the most populated in California, New York, Washington and etc. Soon after I clicked on Asian Americans In which this said these are people who are american but have “Asian ancestry”.  Wiki said that “The term refers to a panethnic group that includes diverse populations, which have ancestral origins in East Asia, South Asia, or Southeast Asia, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. This includes people who indicate their race(s) on the census as "Asian" or reported entries such as "Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Other Asian".Asian Americans with other ancestry comprise 5.6% of the U.S. population, while people who are Asian alone, and those combined with at least one other race, make up 6.9%” (Wikipedia). I'm like wow there are so many different asian descents that many people can come from.
